End of the Season at Longview
It was the last observing weekend of the year at Long View Ciderhouse. Friday had the best forecast, so we went up, but there was a blanket of clouds overhead. Didn’t matter. We used binoculars on sights to see from the hill, swapped perspectives about space, and guests did that thing I love most, the “Wow,” followed by the quick turn to their friends and a “You’ve gotta see this.” That’s the fuel. That’s why I do it.
I’m profoundly grateful to Jeff Rogers and his crew for welcoming me fourteen times this season—fourteen! Longview isn’t just a spot on a map; I think it’s a place that gets the land, the sky, and the weird cosmic thread that ties it all together.
This year up there actually finally pushed me to create Orion Perspectives. Not a side project, but a soul project.
So, we're done at Longview for now, but winter astronomy is coming, and we have some plans and ideas. Follow us on social for the next whens and wheres. Until then, keep looking up, because perspective is power.
